”The Melbourne Disc Golf Club April league day brought us back to where it all began, Bundoora Park. Given the weather all week we were certain that we would be playing in all of the elements but it turned out to be a cracker of a day. The warmup round saw 3 near aces including all sorts of chains hit by Racim on hole 5, one of the courses short ace runs. There was a feeling that the ace pot was going to go off and in the league round, we weren’t disappointed. Paul aced hole 8 on a shot that never really looked like missing and he took out the $170 ace pool.
There were good conditions all around with some low scores coming in, including Josh Smith who had the best raw score for the day with a 49 (7 under par). Our handicap league was won by Daniel Buckand when he shot 12 better than his handicap for a net score of 44! Ari Taylor and Addison Heath came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Next league day will return to Ruffey Lake Park on the 3rd Sunday of May. We look forward to seeing you there and we would like to wish luck to all of our members who are representing at the Vic Open this upcoming weekend.”
