Hey DiscGolfers,

I want to thank everybody who came to the VicOpen 2016 and made this event an amazing experience. It was great to see people from all around Australia travel to Victoria and compete in the tournament. Special thanks to our interstate travelers Brook Pitzer (Thailand) and Simon Feasey (New Zealand) to make the journey. All of you made this event really special.

Watching the final 9 yesterday was a real pleasure. It came to a showdown between Simon Feasey (NZ) and Jarreth Sweeten (Geelong) who showed some fantastic golf. Jarreth played a very solid tournament with a 59, 56, 59. Simon was able to go into the final 9 with a 2 stroke lead after playing an unbelievable 3rd round shooting 52.

Congratulations to Simon Feasey for winning the Men’s Open devision, followed by Jarreth Sweeten, Patrick Robinsons and Rhys Kruger. Well done guys.

Congratulations to the winners of all the other devisions. The amount of junior and female players was fantastic and I hope we can continue to grow the sport here in Australia. The results of the event will be uploaded shortly.

Thanks to Gail Lynch a Frisbee sport legend who donated a $100 to the womens devision and came out on the last day to shoot some very nice pictures and support the game.

Great work by TD Jeff Brunsting and his family, the Heath family and all the other helpers who put a lot of time and effort into this event. I hope everybody had a great time and we are looking forward to seeing you all next year for the 10 year anniversary of the VicOpen.
