This will be a 1 day 2 round ADG B tier tournament also sanctioned by the PDGA as a C tier. It will be played across 2, 9 basket/18 tee courses to allow for up to 72 players.

The two courses are Bald Hill course as it is, and we will be setting set up a temporary course for the day at Braeside Park where the KCC began in 2016. The Braeside course is based on a design done by Andrew Ferguson of RAD several years ago with a few tweaks and challenges added by the course design team, Peter Barry, Mike Van der Linden and Jeff Brunsting.

General safety notes for all courses:

  • Rabbits (and what they leave behind)
    • There are a lot of rabbits throughout Braeside Park. Their holes are mainly in the wooded areas so be careful there, but there are also a lot of divots in all areas of the park. Some areas are worse than others. We have designed the course to stay away from the worst affected areas and done some work to smooth out the areas close to tees or baskets. Please use extra caution when walking the course and check your run up prior to the throw.
    • If your lie is affected by rabbit holes or divots, you can take relief in a direct line back from the line to the basket or slightly left or right as long as it does not result in an unfair advantage without a penalty. This should be a decision made by the card.
  • Casual water.
    • There may be some casual water around the courses given the amount of rain we have been having. Where it is not specifically marked as OB on the course maps or indicated as OB in the course information, it should be considered casual water. That means you can take relief in a direct line back from the basket without a penalty.
  • Picnic tables at Braeside Park.
    • There are a number of picnic tables around the area of the temporary course. It is difficult design a course in this park without them coming into play. We are well away from the designated picnic area, BBQs and playground so these tables are not often used. We are going to use barricades and signs to ask that people do not use these tables on the day of the tournament but if you find them occupied, please just have someone approach the people using the tables and explain to them about the tournament and then stay with them while the others in your group throw and then swap to have your throw. If you are practicing the course prior to the tournament the please exercise extreme caution in the areas around picnic tables.
  • (Suspension of Play)
    • If weather conditions or other safety issues arise that threaten the safety of the competitors, the TDs may make the call to temporarily suspend play. If this happens then an announcement will be made through the PDPG scorecard app. If play is suspended, then, if practical, players should mark their lie and seek shelter in a safe place and wait for further notification via the app. An announcement would also be made on the MDGC chat group. If neither of these options work for you then you can call or text one of the TDs with the contact details that will be provided on the quick reference cards and above.
  • Tie breakers
    • In the case of a 1st place tie, the result must be decided by a playoff starting from hole 1 of the course you finish at. If one of the players chooses not to contest, then they must let one of the TDs know and that will result in a forfeit and the player will be awarded 2nd
    • In the case of ties for 2nd or 3rd places (in divisions where prizes are paid out that far) the gift voucher prize will be split between the players. See below the table showing the draft payouts and pay out key. The actual payouts may change if cancellations change the criteria listed in the payout key.
  • Divisional prizes. (Refer to the prize payout table above)
    • All divisional champions will be awarded one of our awesome trophies and possibly a gift card to the club store. Any divisional place holders beyond that will receive a certificate on the day and the gift cards will be sent post event to the email address used at registration. We have issued cards with the code on them in the past but that was tricky with ties, and we have found that players sometimes loose them. When sent electronically we will have a record of who won what. The vouchers can be used towards anything in our online store including the 2023 membership/renewal to be available soon.
  • Cancellation policy.
    • We are happy to offer a full refund if you have to cancel before 4pm on October 18 as we can probably fill your spot with a waitlisted player. After that no refunds will be issued.
  • Sponsors
    • In line with keeping the tournament low frills and easy to manage, we did not run a sponsorship drive for this tournament. Instead, we have decided to celebrate and thank our annual sponsors who have made it possible for us to be so generous with the prizes for our Social Day in 2022. Each sponsor will have a tee sign at a hole at Braeside park and their banners will also be used to guard the picnic tables, mentioned above, to discourage the use of these tables. The tee signs have QR codes going to the sponsors socials or website. Please scan the code and give them a shout out if possible or support them where you can. Find out more about them on our sponsors page here.
