Results – Special January League Day

Hi everyone, welcome back for a wonderful year of disc golf. We decided to start the year with a special January event at Wilson Botanical Park in Berwick (oddly, within walking distance of Tarron’s home!). With some holes quite long, and others rather short, we elected to declare it a par-3 course and many of the scores reasonably reflected that. …

Disc Golf ‘Pops-Up’ in City of Kingston

Earlier this year, Aspendale’s first ever ‘pop-up’ disc golf course was created in the Yarrambook Nature Reserve by a Kingston local, and Melbourne Disc Golf member. The dynamic course has a very interesting story behind it, featured below in our Q & A with course creator Darren, and is well worth a visit this Summer! What was your inspiration behind …

Results – November 2016 League Day

As is usual with our league calendar, the November event is held in conjunction with the annual Melbourne Cup B-tier ADG event, with the afternoon round serving as the league day event. Playing on a new course running around the western side of the park only, we had a total of 22 competitors for this final event of the year. …

Results – October 2016 League Day

The October league day was played in rather windy conditions, although some of the scores didn’t show that.  Well done to Emma for translating her regular Geelong successes to our course.  And breaking the Heath-streak! See you all at the Melbourne Cup on November 19th.

Kingston City Classic Wrap

The 2016 Kingston City Classic has come to a close. Thanks to all who attended and helped to make this a fantastic success. We ended up with 29 people contesting across 10 divisions. The largest division by far was Novice which is exactly what we were aiming for. Much thanks to many people. First of all, I have to thank …

Results – September 2016 League Day

We had 20 players for the September league day – held a week early since a significant number of members will be attending the Gold Coast Classic this coming weekend. Some VERY hot rounds were seen – well done to Kaspar for a brilliant 50. …and the Heath kids both beat their parents (dammit!).  Having cracked 90 for the first …

Results – August 2016 League day

On a rather windy day, which generally didn’t seem to affect scoring, 18 players braved the cool and the occasional showers for the August league day.  Evelyn Heath was a clear winner, but places 2 to 7 were very close, being separated by less than a stroke – slight variations in handicap were all that decided it.  That’s probably the …

Results – July 2016 League Day

The 2016 league continued on a wonderful spring-like day with 19 players, including a few new competitors. Of interest – every player with a handicap recorded a net under-par score!  Well done to everyone. But special congratulations to Addison for winning two months in a row (and a second the month before).

Results – June 2016 League Day

This month we again played on the ‘normal’ course and although played under cloudy cool skies, the June league produced some very hot rounds with both Mat and Racim throwing a raw score under par.  Playing in the same group, Mat eventually shaded Racim by 3 and captured the No. 1 bag tag. We had 19 players, including 3 making …

2016 Year-To-Date Results

And here we have it, the 2016 season is done. …and continuing his domination, Tarron Anderson takes the prize after a second in 2015 and a win in 2014. As usual, his prize is a choice of a disc from the pro shop or free membership in 2017. Consistency is key – Tarron never won a league day, but he …
